Special projects always bring interesting challenges. We recently developed a custom tank for the CG 125 Bolinha, designed specifically for use on a drag racing motorcycle.
The objective was to adapt the tank to function within a fiberglass fairing, maintaining practicality and functionality for track use.

The client Gilimoto Marcio Lupetti, from Old Cycle Oficina, built a fiberglass fairing for his racing motorcycles. The problem was that the original CG 125 Bolinha tank has the cap recessed into the tank, which made refueling difficult when installed inside the fairing.
To solve this limitation, it was necessary to develop a solution that would allow refueling without having to remove the tank or alter the fairing structure.
The solution: external threaded filler neck
The solution found was to develop a tank with an external threaded filler neck.
This modification allows the cap to protrude from the tank, facilitating access even when the tank is installed inside the fairing.
This way, refueling remains simple and quick, something essential for motorcycles used in competitions.
Final result
With the newly developed tank, the client was able to finalize the project for two custom drag racing motorcycles.
The result was a functional and visually clean assembly, maintaining the aesthetic of the fairing and ensuring the practicality required for track use.
Projects like this show how customized solutions can make all the difference when it comes to adaptations for competition and motorcycle customization.
